Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. The track Sweat it is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Later in the calendar, her songs was circulating around Dreamville. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. Two more singles were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole in The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has over 3 million views on YouTube within its first week. In support of the track she performed with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
